31 Days Captured: Day 14

I try not to have too much repetition with my photos, but we went for another walk tonight and I couldn't resist. I decided to try something new, though, with this panoramic of the Mississippi River. Another beautiful night on a beautiful river. :)

31 Days Captured: Day 13

Tonight the weather was perfect. The river seemed to be enjoying it, so calm and still, as if it was soaking up every moment. And everything around the river seemed to be moving in slow motion, drawn to the quiet perfection of a cool evening.

I can't wait for fall, the crispness in the air, wearing sweaters and scarves, mini pumpkins and crunchy leaves. Sometimes when it starts to feel like fall, I feel like I should be heading back to school. I think of my all-time favorite movie, You've Got Mail, when Tom Hanks' character writes about New York in the fall. "Don't you just love New York in the fall? It makes me want to buy school supplies. I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address." (Oh the poetic genius of Nora Ephron, I miss her already.)

So anyone that has some spare pencils, let's make a bouquet. I'll throw in some felt tip markers and scotch tape. :)

31 Days Captured: Day 12

I always feel a little nervous when the end of the day comes and I still haven't taken my photo of the day. Today got away from me with church and various other activities, and by the time we got out of the 6:45 showing of Bourne Legacy, it was dark and rainy.

The good thing is, not all pictures have to be taken in daylight. And sometimes, rain on a window can make a perfect subject.

31 Days Captured: Day 11

My brother has been teaching himself guitar. He's getting quite good at it, and has been serenading us a lot. I took this picture after we had dinner and played some Skip-Bo. We sat around the table singing popular songs and I took a billion photos. This one was my favorite.

Nights like these make me happy I'm back in Iowa.
